Parking for the stadium tour, museum and rugby store
On the other 340 days a year, Twickenham is a big quiet building with a free car park. Here is how to use it.

Visitor parking on quiet days
The stadium keeps its own car parks open for visitors when there is no event. Museum and tour visitors get complimentary parking: park in the West car park (entrance on Rugby Road) or the North car park (Whitton Dene, Gate 3) and give your registration at the England Rugby Store or the venue operations office so the parking enforcement knows you are a visitor. The West car park has marked Blue Badge bays and is the closer of the two to the store and museum entrance; the North car park is gravel. In the run-up to Christmas the West car park closes for the stadium's own use, so head for the North car park in mid-to-late December.
Both entrances are on ordinary, open roads on a quiet day; the closures and the event zone only exist when the council has listed an event.
The museum and tours
- World Rugby Museum: Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sundays and bank holidays 11am to 5pm, Mondays in school holidays only; last entry an hour before closing.
- Stadium tours: about 75 minutes, several departures a day (typically late morning, lunchtime and mid-afternoon), leaving from the England Rugby Store. Book a time online.
- Prices: roughly £12.50 for the museum on its own or £30 with the tour for an adult; concessions and child tickets; under-5s free; a group discount from 20 people.
- Around events: tours don't run on match days and often not the day before or after; the museum keeps different hours on match days. Check the museum website for your date.
The England Rugby Store
The store is in the stadium's south-west corner on Whitton Road, step-free, with three 45-minute bays and Blue Badge bays directly outside for a quick visit. For anything longer, park in the West car park and walk round; it is a couple of minutes. On match days the store opens early (around 9.30am) and the bays outside are inside the closures, so walk.
Other reasons to be here on a quiet day
- Conferences and hospitality events in the stands: the organiser will tell you which car park; usually the West.
- Charging an EV: the stadium's charge points in the media compound work on non-match days through the bp pulse app. See EV charging.
- A run or a walk: Twickenham is a nice place to be on a Sunday morning; the North car park gives you Crane Park and the river Crane on the doorstep.
- Collecting tickets or visiting Rugby House: West car park, register at Door A.
If you turn up and it is an event day
You will know: cones on Whitton Road, stewards at the gates, and the car park barriers down. The visitor parking is closed, the museum may be too, and the streets are the event zone from 11am. The council's event calendar and our matches page list every event day in advance; look before you set off. If you still want to be here, book a matchday car park like everyone else.
